Interview with Lil Wayne on XXL magazine

lil wayne interview in XXL magazine

/> went on sale yesterday (In America) XXL Magazine this month, which is a exclusive interview with Lil Wayne .
It talks about the concert, Trukfit , and let some pearls of Cortez Bryant .

After the jump I leave the interview translated competence

XXL: Recently you played at SXSW. Did you like it there?
Lil Wayne : was amazing, I had a good time .

XXL: Only 4,000 people. Do you prefer to act with much public or little?
Lil Wayne : Nah, I do not care as long as they act .

XXL: Did you ever get nervous before a concert?
Lil Wayne : Partially, but Naturally .

XXL: So what is the time when most nervous are you?
Lil Wayne Just before .

XXL: Do you have a ritual?
Lil Wayne : only pray .

XXL: Any favorite part of a performance
Lil Wayne : Not really. Every night they have different parts .

XXL: How do you decide which songs to sing at a concert? Is it different for each city?
Lil Wayne : Choose the songs really not my job, Cortez Bryant does. But in changing the songs, not usually change the song list. There may be a particular city in which a song is not on the list is very popular, then maybe the sing .

XXL: You’ve been acting years, ¿ have improved your performance? Is it something you practice? Do you look better on stage with the passage of time
Lil Wayne : Thank God they have never been worse than that because I guess I’m an artist Natural .

XXL: Your concerts are 90 minutes, you have a live band, and try a little like a rock concert. Do you organize a rock concert? Are you influenced by any rock band or someone in particular?
Lil Wayne : No, it is natural that I want, and musically is what I want . My thoughts are returning to life on stage. I’ve never really seen anything of what I said, I put that on my show. I’m just doing what I want on stage .

XXL: What is your most memorable performance with other singers
Lil Wayne : Grammy’s with Jay-Z, TI and Kanye West .

XXL: Why is that?
Lil Wayne : I do not think I have to say because [Laughter]

XXL: Did you have any embarrassing moments in a concert?
Lil Wayne I think you were meant to go out and give everything, so it is impossible for me to have embarrassing moments because I am one of those whose acting wildly. If you slip and fall is something that goes well with my personality .

XXL: Did you ever give them your advice to artists to make good performances Lil Wayn
e: I’m always open to give ideas. I always give advice, but I leave Jan performances to be themselves, to do their thing. But if they act in a concert of mine, if they will be part of my show, of course I give them ideas and perhaps tell them what I expect of them on stage .

XXL: Do you like touring? Being on the bus from city to city, from country to country, always with the suitcase ready. Is that funny? Do you want or you find boring?
Lil Wayne : everything you just said. Sometimes there are times when it gets boring, and there are times when I’m on tour and when I have to make me feel excited to go again.
There are times I say ‘I can not over’, but I earn enough money .

XXL: How is being on stage and watching hundreds of people who know all your words?
Lil Wayne : No words can explain that feeling, and that is why I have not stopped doing what I do .

XXL: And when people who know all the lyrics and do not know a word of English
Lil Wayne It’s crazy. I try to understand it. I try to understand what they are understanding. I do not understand, but it’s amazing .

XXL: Any songs that you refuse to sing at a concert or you do not like?
Lil Wayne : Yes, there are some songs that I hate singing in concerts and Cortez Bryant likes and wants to sing them at times and collided a bit on that. But there’s nothing wrong with the reaction of the public, just me I do not like the song .

XXL: If you like the song, why the public
Lil Wayne : not to like about everything you do. It’s okay when someone else does .

XXL. You just get a brand of clothing called Trukfit. The rappers today do not do that much. Is it something you always wanted to do?
Lil Wayne : Yes, it’s something I always wanted to do. I do not think that was sufficiently established to have a clothing brand that people want to buy .

XXL: Who are the ideal people to the clothes you sell? Who is the consumer Trukfit
Lil Wayne : I think for teenagers, for young people. Most likely for people who like to dress well. I’m glad you asked me that. Most clothes are Trukfit small, medium and long, this means that there is XL, XXL or XXL. You will not see anyone wearing a shirt from the likes Trukfit XXXXXL because I’m not trying to change the styles of the people, but I’m trying to create an image. And there’s something now called childhood obesity, so if you want to take my clothes have to be either small, medium, or high .

XXL: If you looked from you old photos clothes you wore in the very wide, what would you think?
Lil Wayne . I do not watch [Laughter]

Lil Wayne Interview magazine in the CCS

lil wayne photo shoot for the magazine ccs

/> CCS published an exclusive interview with Lil Wayne where you talk about Trukfit and the world of skateboarding .
I also publish more photos of the shoot (you can see the above link here).

After the jump I leave the interview translated :

CCS: Everyone wonders what sparked your interest in skateboarding. Were you exposed to skate since you grew up?
Lil Wayne : I was never exposed to young skate. I got into skateboarding just watching televised, when I saw a special on Alex Midler. After watching it I wanted to go out and try. It looked fun, and wanted to do, so my friend Jason I build a ramp. I learned that. I learned how to (Drop in and do fakies rocks, I guess I will skate tricks).

CCS: What do you do with skateboarding these days? Do you feel you’re improving? Are you learning new tricks?
Lil Wayne : I’m pretty good on the ramp at my house. I have many tricks in it. I have (50-50s, 270 Smith stalls, I got crook frontside pivot stalls and I got to rocks, which means no idea, mine is not the world of skateboarding). I’m still working every day to try to improve.
I ride a street circuit at home. I have a small step ladder, a rail and a (manny pad). ‘m trying to improve the street circuits.

CCS: Is it fun to skate with the team knowing CCS they are good people, but also big fans of your music? Torey Pudwill especially, who has your face on his skateboard.
Lil Wayne : I have a table Torey on the wall of my house. It’s fun to skate with them. Being in his circle, to skate with them, to go for a walk with them is fun because people like that is what makes you think that if you can skate with these guys to anyone.

CCS: What’s the story with your brand new clothes? Where does the name Trukfit
Lil Wayne : The name comes from when I was younger and lived New Orleans. Were all these garments (Fit) of Polo, Tommy Hill, Jordan, and whatever, but the prices were too expensive. They were the guys who stole those brands and they had children in every neighborhood who were in trucks (Truk) selling them cheaper.

CCS: Was that at the time of Magnolia Projects in New Orleans (not referred to Magnolia Projects)
Lil Wayne : Magnolia I’m not, I’m from Hollygrove, but if plan was if you wear one of those garments, of the truck was called a Trukfit. It was not good to take a Trukfit, because obviously you had the same as everyone, but had not paid the same. It was like wearing an imitation that was not an imitation. So I went back to my roots and call it Trukfit.

CCS: What is the inspiration behind Trukfit and culture
Lil Wayne : Trukfit means being prepared for anything. You have your money, you have your girls, you have your friends, you Trukfit, be ready.
culture is rebellious. It is not rebelling against anything positive to negative, is to rebel against the things that bother us in life, and rebel against the negative things.
Maladjusted, skateboarding in mind, skate or die, plain and simple, you fuck your style. That’s my wood, fuck you your style. Do not worry about what another person has in his neck, you put yours in your neck and do as I leave the balls and that you like and you do your best, and when you finish look at you and tell the type of next to you, and tell the world, ‘Fuck you your style’, Trukfit.

CCS: Are you going to create a skate team Trukfit? Will some professionals in the future?
Lil Wayne : I want people who want to be part of it. I want it more than a business relationship. I want to be a friendship. We can do much to help the community of skateboarding, and my team can help with things in my world of rap.
Of course I will put people on the team, but people will be adequate .

CCS: There are many different images of yourself skating Skate Parks and places. What are your favorite places to skate?
Lil Wayne : All of them. Skate with my man Mike at The Berrics. skate at Skate Park of Tampa. In the Thrasher Park skate with my man Omar Salazar. We went crazy in Thrasher. Then we went to Kansas and skated with my man Sean Malto. In Atlanta, I’m fine with my man Stevie Williams. Stevie and Marcus McBride, are friends of mine. Degira were with me and everything.
Greetings to 5Boro too, since my man Adam Ziegler 5Boro. He is the person who taught me most of what is, and my man Jason I make my ramps. He taught me to jump and make the (Fakie Rock). He came to my house every night and we skate sessions. Then Adam came on tour with me. We went skating at Skate Parks every night I was on tour. He was on stage and then went to dinner and then a Skate Park. The same routine. No matter how painful that was. If I put my face started 9 points and the next day back on stage again.

CCS: Fuck, ¿patinaste while you were on tour
Lil Wayne : Si. I could not cancel the concert because I had left my face. Could be terminated by that kind of shit.
So as I said, 5Boro, is my family. My man Danny Fuenzalida. The patina to Think. I was on tour with me too. Adam and Danny go everywhere with me. Both live in Miami so with them is who skate.

CCS: 5Boro Besides, what are your favorite skateboard brands
Lil Wayne : I like Girl. I remember when I started to skate and skate wanted a Girl. I had to have one. Then he began to like Plan B. I’m really not really into the graphics (drawings of skateboards) because I like skating with skates with nothing in the background. But as to the quality of the shoes, I really like Girl.
